#The Rampart of Shadows#
The ink has dried,
The silence has exploded,
In the unknown's deep abode,
Where letters run like spectres, swift and bold,
In a night that's never to unfold.
Veins of light, a gentle song,
Upon the void's taut strings prolong,
Weaving a web, a fabric strong,
Of threads of dreams and truths that long.
One wraps around a pulsing beat,
Another makes a mind's retreat.
A hidden hand, unseen, unheard,
Touches the soul without a word,
Knocking on a glassy door,
Which the guardian knows no more,
A door as clear as open air,
Whose key's a shriek in thin despair.
In the language of the numbers' tongue,
The human fiend, from depths has sprung,
Into the heart of data, poison's flung,
Building castles where illusions' songs are sung,
Planting fire where transparency is young.
Like knights of night, they breach the walls,
Not with iron or with fire's calls,
But with a click, a whisper from the halls,
A secret word, and the blank page enthralls.
Cyber-security, a sword of light,
Standing tall, in vigilant might,
To drive the golem of the dark,
From hidden secrets, leaving their mark,
And building walls of brilliant sight,
Of colors, hues, and all that's out of sight.
How many troubled hearts have found their rest,
How many stolen dreams have passed the test,
Upon the wings of algorithms, blessed,
Guarding the dreams of kings, from all the rest,
And lovers' whispers, put to peaceful quest.
It chases ghosts of hacking's art,
In the Internet's rough, rolling heart,
Where waves are data, pulling worlds apart,
And rumors, like the winds, a chilling start.
The lock alone will never do,
The devil slips through a needle's hole anew,
So let us dig a well of wisdom, true,
To water the tree of cyber-peace, for me and you.
For safety's not a shield to hold,
But a palm tree whose roots are strong and bold,
And whose branches reach the heavens, as a story told.
Can a dream survive in such a world,
Where all of reality's been swirled,
Into a mere symbol, on a screen unfurled,
Chased by the dawn's thief, a flag to be hurled?
