when time was senseless
and the dawn of reality fading away
our eyes met
she looked tired
and sweet
a white mermaid dancing in the perplexed shades
on a lonely island
I could feel the gentle touch of magic
on the desert springs of my soul
love filled my heart with dew
and my eyes with tears
and you were there
still as the fading wind
singing in the distance
your smile was breeze
drawn on those charming lips
your eyes …a dreaming sea
tempting me
time …that ragged old pirate
is trying to seperate us
place each on a distant shore
I wish years were our slaves
and you were mine
you my ever-wakeful sun
and beloved nymph
drawing your ethereal presence
with my dreamy words
or just trying
is like whispering to the wind
a mellow hymn in a djinn's language
ancient and inconceivable
